Headway SELNWK
Headway SELNWK is a charitable organisation providing support and services to individuals, family members and carers affected by an acquired brain injury across Bexley, Greenwich, Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark, Bromley, Dartford and Gravesend.
Headway SELNWK operates a person centred service that understands the complexities and problems that may arise after injury particularly with emotions, cognition, memory, communication and behaviour.
Our team assesses each client individually and a comprehensive support plan is developed to enhance and empower and build confidence and self-esteem.
Our social rehabilitation centres are based in Greenwich and Deptford and provide a friendly, positive and safe environment for all who attend. In addition we have a Community Support Programme to provide choice and a mix of service provision. Headway SELNWK also works in partnership with Kings College Hospital to provide an Early Intervention Project.
Headway SELNWK is affiliated to Headway UK the brain injury association, the National charity that works to improve life after brain injury.

We are building a network of Carers and activities which promote well-being and emotional support. New Carer’s are always welcome, we hope to see you soon.
Professionals
Headway South East London and North West Kent offers services to brain injury survivors, their families and carers. These include our Day Service, therapies, community support work, advice and family support. The effects of brain injury are long-term, so we are here to provide continuity and support.
The Headway Carers and Family support group is a place where I feel that everyone understands what life is like for me as a carer of someone affected by brain disease. I don’t have to explain why I have certain concerns or why my husband (who I care for) behaves in a certain way. With this as a starting point for the meeting it allows me to chat with people, enjoy their company, share information and also have a good laugh. It is an opportunity to be myself as I am now, a carer, and be part of an understanding and supportive friendship group.
